This button allows you to compare two versions of a schedule for the same project.
To be able to run it, the two files you want to compare must be open in Ms Project.
When you click on the button, the following window is displayed allowing you to choose the new schedule to check with the oldest schedule.
This window will appear to display at which task the comparison tools is analyzing.
After the comparison, the Comparison Code column will display the codes that will indicate the differences between the two files. A window will appear to indicate the meaning of the codes.
This comparison will check if
- A new activity has been added to the schedule
- A task name was modified
- The list of predecessors has been modified
- The list of successors has been modified
- The Actual start date or Actual End date has been modified
- Duration has been modified
- It will also enter at the end of all the project tasks, a list of all deleted tasks
